Setsumasa Kobayashi founded *GENERAL RESEARCH* in 1994 and, since the 2000s, has been a central figure in revitalizing Japan’s outdoor and fashion culture through *MOUNTAIN RESEARCH*. In 2007, the “INFINITY MOC,” which he created in collaboration with Mizuno, was a revolutionary design that incorporated the structural philosophy of a performance brand into the traditional moccasin silhouette. The “WAVE PROPHECY MOC” is a model that directly inherits that DNA, yet is not merely a reissue but has been reimagined as “today’s Mizuno sports style,” and this release is positioned as the culmination of that series.

A classic moccasin upper. Yet beneath your feet sits the Wave Prophecy sole, featuring a hollow design. This sole masterfully balances stability and cushioning—two elements that are typically at odds—minimizing midsole “sagging” caused by long-term use and ensuring the shoe retains its value over time.

Furthermore, in this model, elements such as the inner structure derived from SKY MEDAL, the ring-shaped strap that secures the midfoot, and the dual-layer construction of a suede upper and mesh lining are arranged in an extremely sporty and logical manner—contrary to the shoe’s understated appearance.
