The Paper Moon lamp is from Asano Shoten, a long-established lantern manufacturer with over 100 years of history in the castle town of Gifu. Developed in collaboration with designer Shigeru Uchida, it is a fusion of lantern techniques and a modern look.

A wonderful balance of Japanese texture and contemporary shape. It blends in seamlessly with both Japanese and Western style rooms. Enjoy the gentle light that shines through the washi paper.

A long-established manufacturer that has been making traditional Gifu lanterns since the Edo period in the castle town of Gifu .
Gifu lanterns are made one by one by skilled craftsmen, and are one of Japan's unique traditional crafts, featuring delicate autumn grasses and landscape patterns on thin, almost transparent Japanese paper or silk fabric. Making use of techniques handed down from generation to generation, we are creating new products that blend into modern lifestyles.
