Differences between two classic AURALEE shirts. - WASHED FINX TWILL

The WASHED FINX TWILL series, a staple shirt from AURALEE.
For men's long-sleeve shirts,There are two styles of shirts with similar names.

WASHED FINX TWILL SHIRT と WASHED FINX TWILL "BIG" SHIRT。

Whether or not the name includes "BIG." And how do they differ in terms of design?
I’d like to introduce them while comparing them side by side in the photos.

①Collar

The "BIG" version on the left has a slightly smaller collar. In contrast, the version without "BIG" has a slightly larger collar.

Also, items without the "BIG" label have a plastic part called a "color stay" sewn into the inside of the collar.
Although it’s easy to put on and take off, leaving it on allows the collar to stretch out nicely, giving it a formal look.

② Button Pitch

The BIG model has a slightly narrower button pitch. In contrast, models without "BIG" in the part number have a slightly wider button pitch.
Although it's only a slight difference, BIG feels just a little more casual.

③ Chest Pocket

The BIG model features a large pocket on the left chest, but models without the BIG designation do not have this pocket.

④ Sleeve First

The BIG model has a single cuff button. In contrast, models without "BIG" in the model number have two cuff buttons.

Also, if you look closely, you'll notice that the tucks are placed differently. The "BIG" version has two wide tucks, while the version without "BIG" has three smaller tucks.

The BIG version has a simple design, while the non-BIG version has the look and feel of a dress shirt or formal shirt, giving the impression of a well-crafted design.

⑤ Yoke

The construction of the yoke—the section connecting the shoulder and back panels—is also different. The "BIG" version has a wider vertical width. In contrast, styles without "BIG" in the model number are cut narrower to fit the body more snugly.

Another characteristic of product numbers without the "BIG" designation is that they feature a "split yoke" design, which reduces fabric tension.

⑥ Silhouette

Below are the actual measurements for two shirts in size 5.

The BIG size has slightly wider shoulders, but the sleeve length is almost the same. Actually, I get the impression that there isn't a significant difference in the overall silhouette.

⑦ Price

The shirts without "BIG" in the name are priced slightly higher.

We often get asked, “Why is the BIG version more expensive when it seems to use more fabric?” But actually, the BIG version isn’t any larger; the price difference is because the models without “BIG” in the product code feature slightly more intricate craftsmanship.
