This season, Chakra will start carrying the Tokyo-based unisex clothing brand QUIITO.
The brand was launched by female designer Mayu Kamura in the autumn/winter 2024 season.The designer has a background in planning work for ISSEY MIYAKE, one of Japan's leading brands.
The brand name is derived from the Japanese word 'kiito' (raw silk), which expresses the desire to value natural colours, textures, raw materials and resources.

The brand's current signature item is a pair of bottoms with a distinctive shape and a double-fabric waistband.
The designer, Mr Kamura, was visiting a second-hand clothing warehouse when he saw a pile of used denim that had gone to waste, and was inspired by the question of whether these clothes could be discarded and how they could be made wearable again.
The design was completed by reusing only the crotch part of the jeans, as many jeans become difficult to wear due to tears in the inseam area.
Of course it is great that there is environmental awareness in the background, but it is very nice that such a background is not put forward, but is first of all completed firmly as a fashion piece.
