A denim jacket created as a collaboration between eYe JUNYA WATANABE MAN and NEW MANUAL.

about NEW MANUAL;
BerBerJin is a Tokyo-based vintage shop renowned worldwide as a mecca for vintage denim. NEW MANUAL was launched in 2020 by a creative team led by Yutaka Fujiwara, the shop’s director. The brand name embodies the idea of creating a “New Manual”—a new standard for vintage clothing—rather than simply copying the styles of the past as the “correct” way.

・Materials and Fabrics
We use denim fabric that faithfully recreates the vintage look down to the finest details, such as the yarn and dyeing processes. This fabric recreates the unique fading and staining patterns characteristic of vintage denim through the delicate processing techniques of skilled artisans.

・Design
A boxy-silhouette denim jacket based on Levi's vintage "1st Type." This piece faithfully replicates the 1st Type's signature features, such as the flap pocket positioned exclusively on the left chest and the action pleats along the sides of the placket. The silhouette also meticulously recreates the original, with a roomy body width and a compact length. Additionally, the body features patchwork—an iconic technique of JUNYA WATANABE—adding an element characteristic of the co-branded collaboration. This piece seamlessly blends vintage recreation with the brand’s aesthetic in a simple way, fully embodying the essence of both brands.
